Adding Prowl to your server takes less than two minutes. Once invited, Prowl is ready to use immediately — no complicated setup required. Follow the steps below to get the bot online and then head over to the dashboard to start customizing its features.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you meet the following requirements:
You must have either the Administrator or Manage Server permission on the Discord server you want to add Prowl to. If you don’t see a server in the selection list during the invite flow, you likely don’t have the required permissions on that server.
  • A Discord account in good standing
  • Ownership or admin/manage-server access on the target server
  • A web browser with your Discord account already logged in

2

Select your server

In the Add to Server dropdown, choose the server you want to invite Prowl to. Only servers where you hold the Administrator or Manage Server permission will appear in this list.
If you manage many servers, type the server name in the dropdown to filter the list quickly.
3

Review and authorize permissions

Discord will show you a list of permissions that Prowl is requesting. Review them, then click Authorize to complete the process.Once you click Authorize, you may be prompted to complete a CAPTCHA to confirm you are human. Complete it and you’ll be redirected to a confirmation page.
4

Return to your server

Head back to your Discord server. Prowl will have automatically joined and posted a welcome message in your default or system channel. That message contains a direct link to your server’s dashboard page where you can start configuring features right away.

Permissions Explained

Prowl requests the Administrator permission during the invite flow. This grants all server permissions at once and ensures every feature works without additional configuration on your end.
If you choose to deny the Administrator permission and manually select individual permissions instead, some features — such as AutoMod, muting members, or managing channels for Tickets — may not work correctly. Granting Administrator is strongly recommended.
Here’s a quick overview of why broad permissions are needed:

After the Invite

Once Prowl is in your server you’re ready to start exploring its features. The welcome message Prowl posts contains a one-click link to your personalized dashboard, but you can also access it any time at Prowl’s Dashboard.
Prowl’s dashboard requires you to first sign up with your Discord account. Make sure you log in with the same account that holds admin permissions on your server so your server appears in the dashboard’s server list.
From the dashboard you can configure every feature — moderation rules, AutoMod filters, leveling rewards, verification flows, tickets, music settings, and more.
